MULTITASKING TIPS: BALANCING WORKING, SCHOOLING & BLOGGING

Hello there!
I feel so extremely grateful to all  you my blog readers and friends you guys are really the VERY BEST.
if you have been following me for a while, you would realize i kind of have a new blogging routine, even though i didn't plan it, i blog about 3/4 times in a week and never during weekends.
there are two things responsible for this routine;

  1. I started school.
  2. I don't own a camera or a laptop.
Its been the busiest and craziest time of my life balancing about four important part of my twenty-something life, WORK (career), SCHOOL (leverage/ identity capital), BLOGGING (hobby), DATING (love) and FUN.

my last birthday sprung this new found desire to do more physical exploit. Physical exploit for me means having obvious accomplishments.

I enrolled for a post graduate course in Mass Communication to help fuel my future dreams and I'm trying to date more this year, as I am not getting any younger.

With all this new activities, here are a few tips that i have adopted to have control over my life and even get spare time to socialize and catch up with friends and other activities.

  • TAKE PICTURES IN BULK : Blogging is really important to me because it allows me to keep writing, exploring my love for fashion and having a place to run to when i need to breathe. When it comes to OOTD posts, i have in some sense retired, as i have realized that there really isn't anytime to take pictures in between my daily/weekly routine. so my new found routine is to plan my outfits ideas, hang them somewhere obvious in my room and shoot in bulk over the weekend. this period, I even shoot every fortnight as weekly sometimes don't work.
  •  WRITE DOWN ALL IDEAS: I cannot stress the importance of writing things down. personally i'm a scribbler, i'm always with a pen and paper, i don't even utilize my Ipad to the maximum because i love to take notes on real paper. whether its for a work task, school assignment or even blog idea, there is a great need to write everything down and keep a daily journal, this way you can keep track of what needs to be done and what has been done. if you are more into technology you can download a notepad or task manager or even send personal emails to yourself but you have to make sure its somewhere you would remember and that you tick them as you accomplish them.
  •  REDUCE YOUR BREAKS OR SKIP THEM: I work in a company where our break runs for one hour and you can take it in between 1-2, 2-3 and 4-5 pm. this period is also when the canteen runs. so what i do now is to either go real late and spend about 15 to 20 mins eating my lunch, get a takeaway plate and take it home or skip it. During this time, If I'm done with my work deadlines, I check, publish and reply comments, edit posts or check up on all your new blog posts.

  •  WHEN ON THE ROAD: EAT, NAP OR READ: So you were wondering when I eat? well sometimes on the road. its so easy to read, take a quick nap or snack especially when i am on the road from work to school. i know that sometimes when you sit at an uncomfortable spot in the bus you can't achieve all this, but it helps to understand that no time should be wasted. You can always think of more ideas for your blog, type out that post on your phone and even catch up on comments in transit.
  •  PLAN IN ADVANCE: Just like everything and aspect in your life needs planning, same do your routes, school work, reading, working strategy, leisure, outfits and blog posts.
Planning outfits help with good content and good photos, when you plan an outfit, you can deliver better contents and come up with better themes and inspirations. Also I have realized that looking at my outfits hanging in a separate and obvious place motivates me to shoot and blog. Planning your work helps save more time every time.
  • ASK FOR HELP: Ask your colleagues, your classmates, someone on your social network and even your family for help. When it comes to my work assignment, I always tend to run to a close colleague for help, I am an above average Microsoft user but he is into IT so he knows how to explore it; I realized that asking him for help saves me time. For school the class rep is a close friend and so communicating with him, getting him to help drop off assignment and give me updates when I'm not around is easy and when it comes to blogging, using my mum's car for location bus, getting my brother to shoot and even getting my social media friends to help write posts and co shoot double dose with me saves me the stress of coming up with a theme.
I have realized that asking for help is really the most important thing.
  • DON'T PROCRASTINATE: If you have a blog idea, develop it. If you have assignments do it immediately, if you have a task start it at once. Not procrastinating saves me from coming up with the excuse that makes me look stupid, saves me the stress of rushing, dis-stabilization, disorganization, forgetting and missing out on other things I have to do.
  • DOWNLOAD APPS TO MAKE EVERYTHING EASIER: In this stage of smart phones like BlackBerry and iPhone, you will be surprised how much Apps can make your life better, from TV remotes to Calculators, notepads, task manager, blogger, Editing, Microsoft, adobe, planners and Reading apps. It is important to scroll to your app-world or play-store to discover ease at your fingertips. (simply Google time saving apps to find some)
  • BECOME A GOOD MANAGER: According to a training I took last year, a manager is a person who focuses on things, does things right, plan, organize and control things. So all I'm saying is be all these and if possible more. My boss says I will become a good manager because I do everything so smartly. You know what they say! "Work smart don't work hard" if you can do this then you will get as much extra time as you can and achieve all your goals in less time.
  •  UNDERSTAND YOUR GOAL:  this is the first most important rule that I saved for last! Before you decide to take up three coherent difficult prerequisite for maximizing your life, you have to understand, breakdown and write down your goal and Aim. after you have done this, you remember to read it or refer to it every time you are too exhausted or too tired or too broke or too uninspired to do anything.
