" You may turn into an archangel, a fool or a criminal - no one will see it. But when a button is missing - everyone sees that".
Erich Maria Remarque
on instagram today i found the most hilarious picture of olivia ( @oliviabosschick) about single people that felt like my sub, it was about complaining about being single and not taking time to make an effort to socialize.
i go through this unconscious phase where i become extremely anti-social, no twitter, no instagram pictures of myself, no bbm pings from me and no phone calls (both recieving and dialling) either and unluckily i have been in that phase for about a week or so now. God help me.
back to instagram...
if you read my self expression post here you would notice that my 2013 lessons 3 stated:
it’s okay to be jealous of other people’s lives from their instagram pictures...
let me take time to explain that self convenient statement, earlier in 2013, i would see people post picures of their expensive shoes, their beautifully decorated meal that they had at a luxurious hotel in an away from home destination in one of the countries i wish i could travel to. i will sit down and get depressed, i remember telling IFUNANYA ( who as refused to follow this blog) how instagram always made me depress, i will lament and still go back to check my timeline..lol
Right now though, i have managed to transfer my anger and resentment into pure JEALOUSY.
i love this new aproach because unlike most people with
THE DESIRE TO SEEM RATHER THAN TO BE, I WILL RATHER BE THAN TO SEEM.
So everyday now when i go on instagram i remember that my not being able to post fancy pictures with the heaviest makeup and longest weave is the price for living a real and rewarding life.
Ask yourself if you would rather be or seem?
this outfit is inspired by the two cosmic pieces i have in my wardrobe...
cheers to the almost freaky weekend

Girrrrlllll!! I totally feel you on this. Sometimes, I get all depressed when I read other blogs and check Instagram and see all the fancy lifestyle and things but you know what I'm content with what I have and who I am anyways
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing in life is contentment; noonewholoveyoumore would ever be satisfied with what they have but they have to be contented.
