How to maintain your Natural hair whilst wearing a protective styling (crochet):
The most important thing for Natural hair is moisture.
Moisture is key to curb breakage. Dry hair breaks so it's very necessary to keep your hair
moisturised.
For this,
- You'd need a daily hair spritz that's a combination of leave in conditioner, water, glycerin and any hair oil i.e coconut. All of this should be in a spray bottle and should be used daily on the hair.
- Oiling- Your scalp should never be dry, as dry scalp can lead to flakes which most times causes dandruff. It's advisable you oil your scalp daily with any of the hair oils e.g coconut oil, olive oil, avocado et.c are penetrating oils and can be used for this.
- Satin scarf/pillowcase: It's important you sleep with your satin cap to retain moisture.
