IN DEE BEGINNING...
Welcome!!!
The Dee Mako project is a certification that being original, genuine, unpretentious, broke and stylish is a thing.
Before you go further, I would like to tell you a story.
It all started from"Momz" that is what I call my mother. When i was a child, she would buy me the most expensive clothes that looking back she probably couldn't afford. Then I grew up and realised that 'momz' didn't only buy me expensive clothes that made me look cute, she also managed to give me a voice and teach me something or two about style. Thankfully for momz, everyday since I became aware, I evolve and maybe even inspire. This is your one stop place for inspiration no matter your budget. Ask my friends they will tell you i'm a bargain hunter. My name is Desola Mako but please call me Dee.
P.S: I will work for travel.

Looooooool!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the pictures like "oh I so have to try this style" and then I read the cons and I'm like "nah! I aint about this painful life".
I have yarn twist at the moment.

I did not know if i should laugh or cry all through the cons... like i felt i culd feel the pain. Sorry doll
ReplyDeleteI like it on people but not on me oo looks too heavy

LOL! Sorry girl.
ReplyDeleteI had this done last year and it only hurt (a little) for the first three days or so.
I had it on for about three to four weeks and I didn't have issues with it.
It is imperative you let your stylist know that it should be taut but not tight, someone told me she lost her edges due to this style (the tightness).
Oh and yarn/wool gets heavy with time so yeah.

Love the shots!
ReplyDeleteSo much "PAIN" in one post. I'm discouraged from ever trying it.
Desola - your hair is so beautiful!! I would stare until I jam traffic pole. It is "Eryka Baduk" kinda stunning..... I am definitely doing faux yarn locs next time I am in lagos.......... And the price though - I would give an arm and a leg to pay that kinda price where I live and still get such a quality masterpiece. They would charge at least N25K over here and the end product would still be rubbish.
ReplyDeleteEnough about me - what was I sying a gian? Pain is gain o jare and the pain would be a small price to pay if I was getting a masterpiece like yours. Rock it dearie!!
Pele. It luks gud on u though. Your looks reminds of Naija's songstress Azeezat.
ReplyDeleteYour review on the hair is so funny- the fact that it's so painful. My main hairstyle this year has been kinky twists.
ReplyDeleteHahahhha....thanks for this review,am actually about to install mine,at least now i know the implication, but you didn't say if it causes heat or not. Seeing the nigerian weather.
