HI CARRIE...life is not SEX and the CITY

Hi!
So have had this amazing obsession for clothes, fashion, movies and writing for so long now, I can’t actually remember much about how the whole journey started.
One thing i remember though is watching sex and the city while i was in the university and thinking in my mind about how badly I wanted to be Carrie...how badly i wanted that life.
I believe my exact thoughts were not Samantha...she’s too sexual, not Miranda...she’s quite strange, not charlotte...she’s a bit timid...definitely Carrie...nice wardrobe, Mr. big and a good Career that pays for the luxury of her obsessions.

Carrie Bradshaw, a woman that lived a life I admired, with her perfect love life that had its own realistic issues that were overcame, the wardrobe she had, those clothes, shoes and purses were to die for, not forgetting her sex and the city column and her perfect write ups.

I wanted to live and walk the street of New York City in the nicest of clothes and the most amazing shoes.
In as much as I will always love sex and the city, my priorities have definitely changed, I still want a bigger wardrobe and more but now I’m aware that my shoes can’t pay my rent and I can’t live like her on a columnist’s salary in Nigeria and probably in a lot of parts of the world. Now I know to plan my funds, save for what I want and make the right decisions when it comes to money.

Since there is no Mr. big yet to support my responsibilities and wants, whenever I go shopping, I remember that life is not sex and the city, that my shoes can pay my rent or buy me a car, and even though some bloggers can afford very glamorous things (that I want too), I always shop according to my income and I make sure to get the best deals and still have enough money to save for a car and to maybe get a better wardrobe like hers soon.

I’m going to share some of my shopping tactics with you today; this is the best way to shop and save your money
-          I rarely buy anything on the spot even if I have a lot of funds. I make sure I go round window-shopping  and even when I find that item that I fall in love with, if it’s over N5000, I think about it well and in some cases if its near my house, I go home and come the next day. That is my way of making sure it’s a good investment.
-          Negotiating never hurts. I negotiate till I get the bestest price; if you ask people who know me, they will tell you there is no one better than I. I can price ehnnn...it’s incredible.
-          Depositing doubles my investment. This might just be a mindset issue but i like to deposit for things before I pick them up in some cases. Especially when I want more than I can afford presently. I just make up my mind to use my next shopping budget to settle and pick up the items.
-          This is the most important rule. If it’s not mine, then it’s not mine. Some shop owners / sales people would persuade you to buying things you can’t afford or you are not sure you want and even want to make you pay at once. And in some other instances they might sell something I deposited for, I simply just tell myself it’s not mine.

So this four tactics have shared today has made my life a lot easier and in its own way my very own sex and the city life, just that in this case I’m not Carrie Bradshaw I’m Desola Mako.
