REVIEW LAGOS: WHISPERING PALMS RESORT

I was at the whispering Palms with my family on Sunday, we stopped by on our way to Lagos from Badagry.
It was an amazing time with the family even though we spent only a little over an hour.
I first came here on escortion (FIELD TRIP) either in primary or secondary school, i have little memories from then.

ATTRACTIONS:

(1)
ZOO: they have parrots, baboons, peacocks, monkeys and other little animals.
(it was my first time seeing a baboon)

(2)
STATUE (BUDDHA): my brother took a funny picture that i would share later in an indian inspired pose.
this statue was standing in the middle of a small pond, its a fountain.

(3)
ART CORRIDOR: The art corridor had little art works on different columns on the side ways, most of the art works are culture inspired.

(4)
STATUE (YEMOJA) : this statue represents yemoja, a deity, who is widely accepted by the yoruba people as the ocean, the essence of motherhood and a fierce protector of children.
this statue can be seen in the middle of the ocean.

(5)
COCONUT DISPENSARY: Fresh coconuts can be bought at this stall.

(6)
GRILL PALACE: fresh fishes smoked and grilled.
(wasn't operating when we visited)

(7)
SWINGS: We loved this swing so much, it allows for relaxation and its close to shore.

(8)
PEBBLES: I loved this tray of stones, i think you are to pick one for memories
(not sure though)

(9)
MANGO TRUNK with EGRETs: this mango tree trunk is older than me, its a 100yrs old, with two amazing statues of egrets standing on it.
(its a must see, you can see behind the apartments that serve as the hotel)

(10)
CROC WALL: I loved this so much i decided to take a picture.

(11)
MUSEUM: Somewhere in this resort is a museum with a walkway to history, an educative exterior wall as shown above and this brilliant little statues inside.

(12)
CYCLES: colourful and fun way to spend your time here is by taking a ride on this cycles,
With a single bike ride at #500 per 10mins, honey mooner (double bike) at #1000 for 15mins and the Family bike at #2000 per 20mins.

this is a roundabout showing the zangbeto masquerade of the Badagry people.

OVERVIEW:
As earlier mentioned we spent a little over an hour, so these are some of the few things i saw, it doesn't include the boat ride which would be so much fun, the swimming pool area, the kiddies section, the swings, the picnic area, that had the sit outs and the greenery.
they have nice rooms ranging from #25,000 which i find  A BIT PRICEY but its a resort though.

Disadvantages:
  • A little bit boring on normal days, best to go with group of friends or family.
  • really far from the bus stop, if you go with a stranger you might think you are getting kidnapped....lol. ( though, i noticed they have buses for transporting people).
GATE FEE:
 #500 ADULTS
 #300 CHILDREN
