B.O.A.T.S x ARE WE THE CHOSEN GENERATION?

We are not the chosen generation !

I often talk about how much I would love to serve,  become an activist of change because the truth be told there is nothing I haven't experienced in this country, I haven't been privileged to school abroad or spend more than two weeks outside this country, neither was I born into a rich home that I would at least have had enough resources that would have enabled me not to experience a lot of the chaos, corruption and lawlessness of this country.

I hoped just like a lot of people in my generation that we were the chosen generation but the answer is that clearly we are not even close.

Nigeria has always been a country ran by a group of people who recycle themselves and don't give room for others to breathe or soar.

Forget the government and thing of the groups, industries and associations in this country.

Take Hollywood as a case study, every Year they give room to a lupita to succeed and trend and achieve her dreams. Do I even need to shame my country by comparing them (hollywood vs nollywood) ? All I can say is I have talented friends that haven't gotten the baton yet for them to start their own race.

I'm not asking old names to retire, I have known tuface since secondary school and he is still amazing and great but tuface passed his baton to Dami Crane and as featured on timeless songs by upcomers.
The music industry in Nigeria is growing so let's believe they have a few game changers there.

Why I'm really writing though is about my generation and the one before ours and competitions.

Let's start with the mediocre ones, the ones where only the winner wins and the second gets .5% of the 1st prize, lol; my generation and the stupid ideas They have that don't help more than one person.

Moving on to silly stupid fashion competitions...lol
My brother was on one and we'll he was amazing but his group's model not as famous as the beth models in other groups. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying they deserved to qualify but explain to me how the ten group members that qualified had already famous faces amongst them, faces that have ties with the judges from my generation and the one before.

How will we change our generation when we are already sentimental and corrupt.
Dear Brands you want to help people grow? How about you go for unsentimental judges and while at it give money and recognition to those who deserve it.

Well what I'm I saying,  truth is you all Will still do what you want to do and use the people you want to use and get brand ambassadors that don't even use or drink your product and give money to those who have enough.

Those who don't have can't do much to change the country because opportunities are rare and if and when they get one they will milk it dry.
If you wonder how the country got here, remember it started because you didn't pass your baton, because you didn't leave some water in the tank, because you didn't pick the people who really needed the opportunity,  you didn't give hope and encouragement to those in doubt.

I ask myself if I'm one of the few changers and the answer is Maybe!
Maybe if everything works for my good!
Someday I want to quit my shop start a business; a company and do charity.

maybe if i get lucky enough to get the baton from someone that doesnt want to exploit me.
maybe i will be a change.
will you.
