Beyonce Knowles and Katy Perry
Right before her steamy performance that moved everyone in the room, Beyonce walked the red carpet in a daring white lace and sheer Michael Costello gown, accessorised with her rapper better half, Jay-Z. Easily our pick for Best Dressed of the night, Mrs Knowles-Carter took her look to another level with a wavy ombre bob and edgy oxblood lips.
It’s ridiculous how much we love Katy Perry (think an entire iPod playlist dedicated to the California Girl) and when she arrived in this melodious tulle Valentino gown, we couldn’t think of a more theme-appropriate number for the night. Way to go, K! A delicate updo, earrings and her signature bright pink pout complemented the soft, sexy gown like they was meant to be.

Lorde and Natasha Bedingfield
New kid on the block and the latest sensation in music, Lorde channeled some serious Gothic glamour in Balenciaga and broody burgundy lips. She walked away with more than just Grammys tonight, how about brand new style icon status too. Talk about a win/win!
We haven’t seen Natasha Bedingfield around in a while, but the Pocket Full Of Sunshine singer did not disappoint in her vivid tangerine Christian Siriano gown topped with gold cuffs that brought out the highlights in her flaxen hair.

Paula Patton and Madonna
In the jungle, it’s the survival of the fittest. On the red carpet, it’s the survival of the chicest. Luckily, Paula Patton has both bases covered in her edgy sequinned animal print gown, which stood out in a sea of “yawn”. How cool is that fierce neckline?
Madonna, meanwhile, borrowed from the boys and matched her son’s ensemble on the red carpet by sporting a tuxedo by Ralph Lauren. An on-trend hat, sexy waves and red lips kept the look from being too butch. We grant her extra style cred for daring to try something different.

Anna Kendrick and Taylor Swift
The lovely Anna Kendrick picked an Azzaro dress that was not only sweet but also sexy, being strapless and with a slit to boot. She kept the look from being too bold with side swept hair, a box clutch and pretty pink gloss that danced around her smile.
Taylor Swift was an absolute vision in a top-to-toe sequin mesh Gucci number. Possibly every girl’s dream princess dress, the young star did it some serious justice with a wavy blonde pony tail, neutral make-up and a pretty petal pout.

Ciara and Alicia Keys
Mama of the Moment Ciara brought her baby bump out onto the red carpet clad in a gorgeous golden bronze Pucci gown that blended seamlessly with her glowing cinnamon skin and honey-kissed hair.
Alicia Keys flaunted those death-defying curves in a daring midnight blue Armani Prive halter gown that brought to life not only her caramel skin, but her seriously toned arms.

Pink! and Kathy Griffin
Known for her edgy-chic style, Pink! doesn’t always do the ‘red carpet glam’ look justice. We ‘d give this Johanna Johnson dress a miss  if we were her, and opt for the punk trend instead.
There are lizard prints and there are lizard prints. We’re not entirely sure if this dress on Kathy Griffin would fit in to the former or latter category, but we would like to slither away from it. Now.

Foxes and Paris Hilton
British singer Foxes tried her hand at the monochrome trend but all we can say is, “Darling, that’s a complete mono-NO!”
Meanwhile, Paris Hilton wore a rather matronly looking high-neck gown with a bouffant, channeling austere 1900s fashion. While it may have had some sexy sheer panels in the back, the ensemble just didn’t work for us at all.

Rita Ora
I'm a sucker for shorter dresses on the red carpet, and I think Rita's fun Lanvin number is bang on. I love the colour with her platinum hair and the fact that she steered clear of a red lip for a change. Winner.
