MAKEUP: THE GREAT COVER UP – CONCEALER BEST PRACTICES

Hey lovers!!!
its been a  whole movie production since I was last on here!
I missed blogging! Did you cyber surfers miss me?
While on location for omoni oboli's movie *being mrs Elliott*, I finally got around to starting and building my make up kit.
The first thing that I came across while doing that was the concealer;
The concealer is a cosmetic blessing. Though we typically use it to hide the sins of a long, sleepless night or a pesky scar, there are a few more ways to utilize your cover up.
Luckily, summer’s blazing sun affords us the opportunity to flaunt a bronze glow, so our skin tones are naturally more even. However, when applying concealer, here are a few tricks to making it look natural:
1. Choose Your Best Shade:Maybe a ghostly white hue just isn’t your thing. You don’t have to abide by the “two shades lighter than your skin tone” rule. For scars, a concealer that’s much closer to your own skin tone will give you better coverage. However, for contouring, choose a lighter shade. Consider your goals and go with a product that will give your those results.
2. Press, Pat, Swipe: Don’t smooth on your concealer upon first application. Instead, use your tool (preferably a small makeup brush) to gently press your concealer onto your face. This allows for better coverage.
3. Blend it Baby: Make sure to blend your concealer into the rest of your face. Your fingers can sometimes do the trick. Follow up with a foundation and pressed powder to set.
What else can you use concealer for?
Nude lips: Many celebrity makeup artists use concealer to paint the lips a neutral color before applying a nude gloss. This is how many stars achieve that ethereal look. Ahem, J-Lo.
Brow Highlighter: Really want to rev up your brows? Use a minimal amount just beneath brows and follow up with a little pressed powder.
