DAY 5 || MEN LIKE THESE COULD KILL US

Tears in the shower feel heavier on the face
I should know because that's the first place I cried when I lost you.
My pillows were too soaked with parallel tears
And my bear too wet from drying my tears
At Least the showers will wash away my tears,
that's a lie,
it left me feeling empty.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who leave us when we need them the most,
Because somewhere in our world,
They were our hope,
Not for tomorrow,
But for this very moment
We breathe.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The one who after years of loving,
realize never did love us,
Maybe they cared or
Maybe even liked us,
But love never did exist,
In those dark hearts of theirs.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who sit on our messages,
Letting our imaginations wander,
And our excuses wonder,
For their cowardly nature.

It could kill us,loving men like these;
The ones we give our every,
But can't give us nothing,
With hearts belonging to a different girl.
Who never stops Lingering,
in those minds of theirs.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The fathers of our kids,
Who will never step up,
Or even love them,
Killing them,
Even before they are born.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones with no emotions,
Who think loving us,
is a favour or even a gift,
They Constantly remind us,
They pulled us from the drain.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
Those who never told us the plan,
That we were just a mirage,
Because they live for other men,
In a man unfortunately judgemental world.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones that own our youth,
But don't need our future,
Because some younger girl,
Keeps them feeling forever young.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who we need to ask,
Even when we are in need,
They see our struggle,
But need our plea.
To Make them feel stronger.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones our success,
Equals their failures,
Unsupportive of our growth,
Because we suddenly,
Became their competition.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who talk a lot,
about all that we want,
Like they are psychic,
But really just very good with words.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who often touch us,
The very way we want,
 but Never do have the courage,
To tell us what they want.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
Men like our fathers,
Who kept our mothers subdued,
And never did see,
or think,
Something was wrong.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who don't want more,
And remain contented,
Rotting away in a little corner,
Irrelevant in this world.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who aren't our first choice,
But chose us anyways,
Everyday is a reminder,
That maybe we made a mistake.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
The ones who haven't noticed,
That we seem to die everyday.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
But haven't we already died,
With all the men that we loved,
A lot of them like these.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
Except we are fighters,
built to last forever.

If it kills us, loving men like these;
Who will tell our kids,
not to love the same.

It could kill us, loving men like these;
I bet you met men,
That could stab your heart....
